Gluten is a naturally found in almost everything, from bread, beer and even in some nutritional supplements. In science, Gluten is a general name for proteins found in wheat and other similar products like rye. The purpose of Gluten is to hold and provide the shape to foods and act as a glue between their particles.
But, What is Gluten and is it really good or bad for your body ?
Gluten is naturally occurring protein which is extracted, concentrated and added to food to add protein, texture and flavor.
People with celiac disease are recommended to avoid gluten as it contains peptides-amino acids, which are found in stomach acids making it hard for some people to digest, leading to mild indigestion to more serious health conditions.
Some reports have shown Gastrointestinal discomfort or allergy symptoms in people as the result of eating gluten.
Is Gluten Bad for You?
Our stomach contains digestive enzymes to break down foods. In some people, it is hard for them to digest gluten, leading to some sever celiac health issues, so it is recommended for them to avoid. Celiac can damage the small intestine. In some cases people experience bloating, diarrhea, headaches or skin rashes.
But this is not for everyone else. Since Gluten is a natural protein found in grains, it doesn’t cause problems in most people.
In some conditions it is recommended to follow a strict gluten-free diet.

Does beer contains gluten ?
Gluten is also found in alcoholic beverages like beer. Some brand names like Sapporo beer are widely used but is Sapporo gluten free ?
Sapporo beer contains barley and is traditionally brewed. And because of this contains, Sapporo or any other traditionally brewed beer are not gluten-free and are also harmful for people with celiac disease.
